About Me
field ornithologist, dedicated museum worker, evolutionary biologist
I am a Ph.D. student in Dr. Rob Moyle's lab at the University of Kansas studying bird evolution and speciation using molecular and museum-based research methods. I am a field ornithologist by training with extensive fieldwork experience in Alaska and the Solomon Islands. I grew up in Alaska where I became involved with the University of Alaska Museum bird collection at an early age. Increasing our understanding of patterns in bird diversity through evolutionary research and fieldwork focused on documenting poorly known avifaunas motivates the majority of my work. I am dedicated to natural history museum-based work and the long-term documentation of our natural world
